Our Specialty: Total Eye Care

Drs. Hendricks and David are ophthalmologists (M.D.) who specialize in diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases by medical and surgical means. The emphasis of Dr. Hendricks' practice is laser refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and corneal disease and surgery. Dr. David's emphasis is treatment of glaucoma and cataract surgery. Drs. Hendricks and David also treat other complex eye problems such as diabetic eye disease, retinal disease, as well as common eye problems such as "red eyes". They also perform routine eye examinations and prescribe glasses. Dr. Stephens is an optometrist (O.D.), who provides primary eye care, family vision care, eyeglasses, contact lenses and low vision therapy.

Surgeries that Drs. Hendricks and David perform include:

• LASIK surgery for near-sightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism
• Small incision cataract extraction (Phaco) with intraocular implants

We maintain a modern and current ophthalmic practice that provides quality eye care. Our office and technical staff are certified in their positions, but more importantly, they are dedicated and caring people who are here to help you. Our office is equipped with modern technology including a YAG Laser for secondary cataracts, an Argon Laser, a computerized visual field analyzer for glaucoma evaluation, a new computerized corneal mapping and wavefront system, and a new retinal digital camera for retinal photography, all of which enable us to diagnose and treat serious eye diseases. In addition we keep current in our specialty by regularly attending both local and national continuing medical education courses.

Our Board Certified opticians will assist you in your selection of eyewear for your every need. We have eyewear that is moderately priced and carry a full line of designer fashions. We will dispense eyewear in a timely manner for you convenience.

Appointments are required, even for emergencies. You can contact our office by calling (913) 299-8800. Fax # (913) 299-6581.  Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9a.m. - 5 p.m. Our telephones are covered 24 hrs a day by an answering service should an emergency arise.

Billing and Insurance

Payment is expected at the time of service. We accept cash, checks or credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, DISCOVER). Medical Surgical Eye Care P.A. participates in most major HMOs, PPOs, and Medicare. Call the office for a complete listing of current insurance providers.
